11 International Orthopedic Conference ……clear visions , encouraging and supporting scientific research

The 11th conference of the Sudanese Orthopedic Association kicked off on Friday, at Al Salam Rotana Hotel, from 27_ 28 _29 January 2023 ,in the presence of the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, the President of the National Council for Medical Specialties, Professor Al-Rasheed Ahmed Abdullah, the Secretary-General, Dr. Afrah Shadol, the Chairman of the Medical Council, Professor Al-Khatim Elias, and the Ministry’s Advisor for Therapeutic Medicine, Dr. Esmat Mustafa, with the participation of delegations from several countries .
Dr. Haitham said that the ministry has formed 26 advisory councils for different specialties, which contributes to the development of specialties, including the development of specifications for devices, the development of a map and protocols, with the help of associations to ensure the improvement of the health system in each field
Haitham announced support for the proposal to establish a national center for orthopedics in its integrated concept, including advisory and sponsor specialization and training of deputies, pointing out that the issue of deputies and their employment and all the problems they suffer from are of interest in coordination with the competent authorities, pointing out that there are 4 thousand funded jobs and others waiting for funding, adding that the file of interns also finds the same interest

Haitham revealed the agreement on the unified window for spending and spending on health, to start with ten hospitals in Khartoum state, which reduces the burden of high cost of treatment on the citizen
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association, Mohammed Saeed Omar, said that the first conference of the Association was held in 2009, pointing out that many issues are still stagnant and need to be discussed with the competent authorities, especially health in several axes, including services, training, professional development, pointing to the absence of the internship period in orthopedic surgery, as well as the training of deputies needs to develop.
The President of the Association, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Badri, said that the Association contributed with others to the localization of treatment and the stability of orthopedic surgery by establishing integrated units
Demanding the establishment of the National Center for Orthopedics in light of the increase in traffic accidents, bone tumors and others, and added this proposal remained locked in drawers
It is worth noting that Sudanese Orthopaedic Surgeon Association have clear visions seeks to achieve:Encouraging and supporting scientific research and publishing in the fields of Orthopaedic surgery and bone diseases.
_ Publishing studies and periodical magazines related to their fields and interests
– Holding conferences, seminars and courses to highlight the scientific progress in the field of orthopedic surgery.

– Provide scientific consultations in the Field of orthopedic surgery for those who need it
– Spreading public awareness in the areas of orthopedic surgery through the different types of media and social communication.
– Cooperation with government agencies and their institutions as well as the private sector and scientific societies to raise awareness of the prevention of accidents and bone diseases and cooperation with similar associations regionally and internationally.
_Participation in medical rehabilitation programs
_Development and upgrade the level of the members of the association by sending them to hospitals inside and outside the country and facilitating their attendance in conferences related to orthopedic surgery.
