Vice President of the Sovereignty Council heads to Chad on Monday

The Vice President of the Sovereignty Council and Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, will hold talks during his visit to N’Djamena next Monday, with the President of the Transitional Phase in the Republic of Chad, Lieutenant General Mohamed Idriss Déby, on security and political files, border issues and terrorism.
Multiple sources told “Sudan Tribune” that Hamidti’s visit to N’Djamena comes as a result of his assumption of responsibility for the Chadian file and neighboring countries in the Sovereignty Council noting that the visit will discuss in details specific files related to the borders between the two countries and with Libya and Central Africa, tribal conflicts and the security situation in light of some of the tensions left by those clashes and the pursuit of those involved.
The rapid support forces deployed large numbers of soldiers on the western borders in the recent period, amid high tensions, after its commander announced the failure of a plot to overthrow the regime in Bangui.
The Rapid Support Forces are the most widespread at the present time among the military forces located on the western borders of Sudan.
Hamidti paid four consecutive visits during the year 2022 to Chad, the last of which was to resolve the issue of the “the well of Salib” events and resolving conflicts in border areas such as the “Umm Dukhun” area.
