Conning yields no fruits but hell

One million dollar question dear brother muslim is: How do you gauge your religious piety? What struggles and sinful and satanic açts sap that our efforts to maintain our religious quotient?

Dear brothers in Islam, particularly in Sudan, kick back and ask yourself: Have you done enough so far to step into the hereafter and meet your Lord without any regrets?

More importantly, have you been a good Muslim to yourself and brethren around you up to the moment? I mean, have you been Muslim enough?

I would like to remind you dear brothers and myself that any deed without good intentions will yield you neither fruits in this world nor in the hereafter.

Every act of worship, charity, or any good deed will be judged by the intention behind it. Allah knows the true and secret inner-motives of all deeds that we do, and these motives will be made known on the Day of Resurrection. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Verily, deeds are only by intentions. Verily, every person will have only what they intended. Whoever emigrated to get something in the world or to marry a woman, then his emigration is for whatever he emigrated for.”

I have cited the hadith above to remind all that what you think would conceal is crystal clear to Allah to Whom nothing is ever hidden.

Over the past decade, conning people have become a common practice by some of our brothers in Sudan. Regrettably, the society doesn’t seem to be annoyed by such malpractices such as cheating people in different business transactions. This act is prevalent among some real estate agents as well as other middlemen. These cons go around cheating their victims robbing them in broad day lights without having anybody reminding them that such an act is forbidden in Islam. Instead, a person who cheats is being painted “muffatih”, literally meaning a” smart aleck or open-minded”

You may cheat people and sell them fish in the river, but remember that you are getting hell in return. Deeds might be good on the surface, but will amount to nothing without corresponding inward righteousness. Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, once said, “O Messenger of Allah, in the time of ignorance the son of Jud’an would maintain family ties and feed the poor. Will it benefit him?” The Prophet ﷺ said, “It will not benefit him. Verily, he never said even for one day: “My Lord, forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment.”

And, the Prophet ﷺ said, “Verily, Allah does not accept any good deeds unless they are done sincerely and in pursuit of his countenance.” If good deeds done insincerely are unacceptable to the Almighty Allah. Solely, deeds of believers who acted in accordance with the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, shall be accepted should Allah wills. Then, how would you go about your business with the intention to con people? Allah says in Quran: “There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.” (Quran 33:21).

In a nutshell, none of us is safe from Satan unless their intentions are sincere and that one as muslim is not freed from Satan except by sincerity.” Accordingly, try not to act muffatih cause it will pave your way to hell.

I am aware that it might be difficult for everyone to act in accordance with the whole Sunnah, but do fight the satan and your inner devil to have the intention of acting in accordance with the Sunnah and be in favor of the Sunnah before your lifetime expires.

May Allah guide us pursue the right path, and grant us salvation and admittance into Paradise
