Prominent Leaders of the RSF Militia in West Darfur Defect and Join the Sudanese Army

Informed sources confirmed the defection of a group of leaders from the RSF militia in West Darfur State and their official transfer to areas controlled by the armed forces. This development reflects the depth of the cracks and divisions that are undermining the internal cohesion of the rebel ranks.
The sources explained that this shift came as a result of successful intelligence penetrations carried out by the armed forces’ intelligence, which led to the dismantling of the militia from within and the weakening of its leadership and military structure. The list of defectors included Mohamed Wadah, Abdullah Abu Mutameer, Dahia Hamdan, and Adam Al-Qawi’i, amid reports of arrangements being made by other leaders to leave the militia in the coming period. This move reveals the widening scope of discontent and disagreements, and the decline in organizational cohesion within the militia, indicating the beginning of an internal collapse whose effects may extend beyond the scope of field military confrontations.
