West Darfur Governor Announces Liberation of Abu Sorouj Administrative Unit in Sirba, Vows Continued Operations to Restore Security

The Governor of West Darfur State, General Bahr Al-Din Adam Karama, announced that the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Joint Forces, and all supporting military formations have achieved new field advances by successfully taking control of Abu Sorouj Administrative Unit in Sirba locality, following decisive military operations in the area.

In a statement, the governor said that the forces had defeated Rapid Support Forces (RSF) elements and fully secured the area, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment, in addition to destroying and capturing a number of military vehicles.

Karama stated that the development comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and stability in West Darfur, protect civilians, facilitate the return of displaced people and refugees, and preserve their dignity.

He affirmed that military operations would continue until security and stability are restored in West Darfur and across Sudan.

The governor praised the sacrifices and bravery of young fighters in the armed forces, joint forces, and other military formations, saying their determination represents a key factor in achieving victory. He also expressed condolences for those killed, wished a speedy recovery for the wounded, and prayed for the safe return of prisoners and missing persons.
