Sudan Launches National Child Protection Plan Development Process

The National Council for Child Welfare ( NCCW), led by Secretary-General Dr. Abdul Qader Abdullah Abu Ali, convened the first meeting of the working group tasked with developing Sudan’s National Child Protection Plan.

The meeting brought together representatives from relevant ministries, UNICEF, child protection organizations, and experts to coordinate efforts and review the draft national plan. Participants emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation, the legal framework supporting child protection, and continued international partnership.

UNICEF reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the initiative, while the Ministry of Interior stressed its dedication to safeguarding children’s rights across Sudan.
