Secretary General of the NSWF: Strategic Plan is Worthless Without Practical Implementation and Linkage to Institutional Reports
A workshop on implementing the strategic plan, planning concepts, and preparing institutional reports concluded at the General Secretariat of the National Students Welfare Fund (NSWF). The two-day workshop was attended in person by staff from the General Secretariat and Khartoum State, as well as representatives from other states via videoconference.
Dr. Ahmed Hamza Al-Amin, Secretary General of the NSWF, emphasized the significant benefits gained from the workshop, noting that the Fund aspires to be a leading institution in implementing the strategic plan, not merely in developing it.
He explained that while many institutions develop strategic plans, implementation often follows a different path. He indicated that the Fund is currently working to align the strategic plan with practical realities and link institutional reports to their objectives and performance indicators for accurate measurement. The Secretary-General announced the organization of a specialized workshop in the coming period to discuss reports and mechanisms for aligning them with the strategic plan. He also announced a training workshop for departments tomorrow at the General Secretariat, focusing on report review, with the participation of strategic planning experts.
He emphasized the importance of expanding training and capacity building, and of employees continuously documenting their achievements. He urged participants to share the knowledge and experience they gained with their colleagues, contributing to the consolidation of a strategic planning culture and the improvement of institutional performance.
Meanwhile, the Director of the General Department of Planning, Technology, and Information, Engineer Osama Othman, confirmed that the workshop combined theoretical and practical aspects and contributed to strengthening the concepts of strategic planning and the preparation of institutional reports. He indicated that the training program will continue through the organization of further workshops to solidify the strategic plan and translate it into practical reality.
It is worth mentioning that the two-day workshop was presented by a select group of strategic planning experts, headed by the Secretary-General of the National Council for Strategic Planning, Professor Mohamed Saeed Al-Samani. It included topics on implementing the strategic plan, planning concepts, and preparing institutional reports, in addition to practical applications aimed at enhancing the participants’ capabilities in implementing the strategic plan and measuring institutional performance.
