National Nutrition Program Concludes Its Mid-Year Review Meeting 2026

The National Nutrition Program concluded its Mid-Year Review Meeting 2026  on Tuesday at the Holiday Villa Hotel in Khartoum, marking the end of a four-day event.

Dr. Asmahan Al-Khair, Director of Maternal and Child Health at the Federal Ministry of Health, representing the General Directorate of Primary Health Care, commended the Nutrition Program teams at both the federal and state levels for their efforts to improve the country’s nutrition indicators. She said, “Together, we can achieve our strategic objectives.”

Dr. Al-Khair stressed the importance of ensuring that the meeting’s recommendations are practical and actionable to facilitate effective follow-up and implementation. She also highlighted the Ministry’s leadership’s strong commitment to the meeting and to advancing the nutrition agenda.

Meanwhile, Ms. Salwa Surkati, Director of the National Nutrition Program, reaffirmed the program’s commitment to advancing nutrition in Sudan and working collectively to address challenges, including malnutrition. She announced that the coming period will include field visits to the states to strengthen implementation and coordination.

The closing session also featured the presentation of appreciation certificates to the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP), UNICEF, and representatives from the 14 participating states.
