Minister of Human Resources Pledges to Mobilize Support for Implementing Social Peace Document in Sennar

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mutasim Ahmed Saleh, has pledged to mobilize government support to implement the provisions of the Social Peace Document and the reconciliation agreement between tribal communities in Al-Dinder locality, Sennar State. Meanwhile, the Governor of Sennar affirmed the state’s commitment to implementing the tribal reconciliation initiative, making it a model for resolving conflicts across Sudan.
During a meeting held today (Sunday) with the Governor of Sennar, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed, Saleh stressed that the provision of basic services is a guaranteed right for citizens, regardless of the exceptional circumstances experienced by Al-Dinder locality due to tribal conflict.
Saleh set the end of this year as a deadline for completing the construction of a vocational training center in Sennar State, emphasizing the importance of such a facility to meet the country’s need for skilled labor, reduce reliance on foreign workers, and transform Sennar into an industrial state. He also highlighted the need to expand health insurance coverage, mobilize support for population coverage programs, and rehabilitate service centers.
The Minister pointed out that his ministry has allocated 2,000 projects for Sennar State targeting the most vulnerable groups, particularly women and persons with disabilities, ensuring fair access to social services while prioritizing the poorest segments of society.
Saleh reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to providing essential services to citizens, especially in the areas of health, development, and education. He stressed giving priority to productive communities in the allocation of Zakat revenues, alongside government support for social peace initiatives.
He further noted that the Council of Ministers would support the social reconciliation efforts in Sennar by providing the necessary tools and resources to ensure the sustainability of the peace agreement.
For his part, the Governor of Sennar State, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed, affirmed the state government’s commitment to making the tribal reconciliation in Sennar a model for addressing similar conflicts in other parts of Sudan.
Al-Sayed said the state is counting on the Ministry of Human Resources to implement the provisions of the reconciliation agreement between the tribal components in Al-Dinder locality
