Burhan Issues Sovereign Decree

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, issued a presidential decree appointing five judges to the Constitutional Court, as part of completing the formation of the constitutional institution.
According to Presidential Decree No. (304) of 2026, the following were appointed:
Sumi Zeidan Attia
Ibtisam Ahmed Abdullah Musa
Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Taher
Dr. Mohamed Zamrawi Nasser Himmat
Olish Othman Al-Haj Amer
The decree was based on the provisions of Constitutional Decree No. (38) of 2019, the Constitutional Document for the Transitional Period of 2019 as amended in 2025, the Constitutional Court Law of 2005, the Law on the Interpretation of Laws and General Texts, and the Regulations Governing the Work of the Sovereignty Council.
The decision stipulated that the appointments would be effective from the date of its signing, corresponding to July 11, 2026, with instructions to the relevant authorities to take the necessary measures to implement it.
