Khartoum Social Development Ministry and Sudanese Red Crescent Strengthen Partnership to Advance Community Protection Project
Khartoum –The Minister of Social Development in Khartoum State, Siddig Hassan Farini, affirmed that the ministry is moving forward with a strong institutional commitment and a comprehensive vision to rebuild individuals and communities. He noted that these efforts are supported by qualified professional staff and effective national partnerships that promote recovery and social stability across the state.
The remarks came during a meeting at the ministry’s headquarters with Musa Hashim Kilai, Migration Advisor at the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, and Hamed Suleiman Musa, Coordinator of the Community Protection Project, in the presence of relevant ministry departments.
The meeting discussed avenues for joint cooperation in implementing the Community Protection Project and strengthening humanitarian and development interventions aimed at supporting those most affected by the war, as well as socially vulnerable groups, in order to establish the foundations for sustainable recovery.
Farini praised the national role played by the Sudanese Red Crescent Society during the period following the liberation of Khartoum State.
He commended its humanitarian interventions and community initiatives, which significantly supported the state government’s efforts to mitigate the impact of the war and helped create favorable conditions for the return of citizens and the gradual restoration of normal life in many areas.
He emphasized that the ministry views the recovery phase as a national project requiring close coordination between government institutions and humanitarian organizations. He added that the ministry’s qualified professionals and extensive field experience represent a strategic asset that can be utilized to implement social protection and community development programs efficiently.
Farini further stated that the next phase requires deepening cooperation with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society and enhancing joint working mechanisms to strengthen the implementation of the Community Protection Project, expand its impact within local communities, and contribute to building a more stable and resilient society capable of overcoming the consequences of war and achieving sustainable development.
For his part, the Migration Advisor at the Sudanese Red Crescent Society explained that the Community Protection Project targets Jebel Aulia, Bahri, and East Nile localities. The project includes several intervention areas designed to support vulnerable and marginalized groups, as well as economically active individuals.
