Justice Minister Meets with Military Judiciary Delegation to Discuss Cooperation and Coordination on Shared Issues

Minister of Justice Dr. Abdullah Dirif met today, Monday, at his office with a delegation from the Military Judiciary, headed by Major General (Legal) Ihab Ahmed Hussein Zaid Al-Din, Director of the General Directorate of Military Judiciary, and Major General (Legal) Mu’taz Fadl Fadlallah, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Military Judiciary. Also present were the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Head of the Legal Sector, Ali Khader, and the Attorney General of the Republic of Sudan and Head of the Legal Sector, Alaa Al-Din Al-Sayed.

Dr. Dirjf commended the pivotal role played by the Military Judiciary in establishing the foundations of justice and strengthening the rule of law, emphasizing that the visit opens avenues for cooperation, coordination, and the exchange of expertise between the two sides. The Minister of Justice also pointed to the necessity of organizing training and awareness courses on international humanitarian law and human rights for members of the regular forces and the military judiciary.

For his part, Major General Ehab Ahmed Hussein praised the significant role played by the Ministry of Justice during this exceptional period. He explained that this visit is part of a series of scheduled visits by the General Directorate of Military Justice to judicial bodies to foster cooperation between the General Directorate of Military Justice and the Ministry of Justice, and to coordinate on numerous shared issues to ensure a unified vision across all these matters.

The Director of the General Directorate of Military Justice added, “We found a positive response to all the proposals we presented, and we are pleased with this visit, which has overcome many obstacles and opened channels of communication between the Ministry and the General Directorate.”
