Hundreds of South Sudanese Mercenaries Arrive in Nyala

Local media reported the arrival of hundreds of mercenaries from South Sudan in Nyala during June and July to join the ranks of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. This development reflects the expanding recruitment of foreign fighters within areas controlled by the militia.
According to sources, foreigners wearing RSF uniforms were observed in the city’s markets, amidst a noticeable presence of non-Sudanese elements.
Reports indicate that the influx of foreign fighters is an extension of widespread recruitment activity witnessed in Darfur in recent months, raising concerns about the impact of this presence on security and the course of military operations in the region.
