Higher Education Minister Urges Private Universities to Accelerate Return to Main Campuses

Sudan’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Madawi Musa, met with leaders of private, foreign, and non-governmental higher education institutions to review academic performance and discuss the implementation of the Prime Minister’s directive to return to their main campuses.
The minister said private higher education institutions represent about 40% of Sudan’s higher education sector and highlighted their growing role in supporting national development and post-war reconstruction. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to quality assurance, academic accreditation, digital transformation, and protecting students’ rights.
The ministry also outlined ongoing efforts to restore the higher education sector, including support for research, improved salaries for academic staff, and expanded student accommodation for those affected by the war.
