Federal Emergency Operations Center Reviews Health Situation, Highlights Decline in Measles Cases

The Federal Emergency Operations Center EOC at Sudan’s Ministry of Health reviewed the country’s health situation during its regular meeting, chaired by Undersecretary Dr. Ali Babiker. The meeting reported a decline in measles cases to 25 new infections with no deaths, while hepatitis E cases dropped to 31, all confined to Blue Nile State.

The EOC also discussed suspected cholera cases in four states and noted that 75% of dengue fever cases are concentrated in Damazin, Blue Nile. Officials emphasized continued preparedness for Ebola through the establishment of isolation facilities, strengthened surveillance at border entry points, and ongoing rapid response activities.

The meeting highlighted continued support to affected states through the provision of medicines, chlorine supplies, healthcare services for displaced populations and refugees, and training programs aimed at strengthening preparedness and response to public health emergencies.
