Darfur Governor, Commander Minni Arko Minnawi, posted the following on his Facebook page:

If you feel safe prepare for war.
What has been achieved today is not the end of the battle, but the beginning of a new phase of decisive action.
Our armed forces, joint forces, and popular resistance, with unwavering resolve and an indomitable will, have liberated the areas of Bara, Umm Qirfa, Umm Sayala, and Jabrat al-Sheikh, after precise and well-executed military operations that disrupted the militia’s ranks and broke its back.
The militia suffered heavy losses in lives and equipment, and its defenses crumbled before the advance of men who know only victory or martyrdom. May God have mercy on our righteous martyrs and grant a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured.
