Sudan’s Embassy and Community in Lusaka Tops the Scene at Africa Day Celebrations in Zambia
The Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in the Republic of Zambia, along with members of the Sudanese community residing in Lusaka, participated prominently in the grand celebration held yesterday (Thursday) at the Malawian Embassy by accredited African diplomatic missions, commemorating Africa Day, under the theme “Sixty-Three (63) Years of Unity, Integration, and Development: Let’s Celebrate Together,” amidst a high-level official and diplomatic presence.
The celebration program included specialized cultural and heritage exhibitions for the participating African countries. The Sudanese pavilion received widespread praise and special commendation from the guest of honor, Mr. Evans Muhanga, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Zambia, and the other guests. They expressed their great admiration for the richness and diversity of Sudanese heritage, showcased through displays of Sudanese folklore, costumes, heritage artifacts, and handicrafts that reflect Sudan’s deep-rooted cultural identity. A selection of popular Sudanese foods and beverages was also presented, which were very well received by visitors.
In this context, the Sudanese Ambassador to Zambia, Abadi Nour El-Din, emphasized the deep fraternal ties that bind Sudan to its African neighbors, noting that this participation underscores the role of cultural diplomacy in building bridges of communication between peoples. The Ambassador also commended the distinguished presence and excellent organization of the Sudanese community members, who exemplified Sudanese hospitality and culture in its finest form.
It is worth noting that the celebration of Africa Freedom Day is an important annual occasion that embodies the values of liberation, unity, and solidarity among African nations and peoples, and highlights the rich cultural and civilizational diversity of the continent.
The distinguished Sudanese participation, through the efforts of the embassy and the Sudanese community, reflected the depth of Sudan’s belonging to its African environment and its keenness to strengthen ties of cooperation and cultural and diplomatic communication with sister African countries.
