At Port Sudan Airport: Health Minister Reviews Quarantine Preparedness to Prevent Ebola

Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, emphasized the importance of strengthening quarantine measures to combat epidemic diseases, stressing the Ministry’s commitment to implementing preventive interventions to protect the country from any potential Ebola cases following recent outbreaks reported in several African countries.
This came during his visit to Port Sudan International Airport, where he inspected the implementation of precautionary measures at points of entry. He commended the existing arrangements and reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for the efforts of the Red Sea State health sector in securing air, sea, and land entry points.
The Minister was accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Prof. Ismat Qarshi Abdullah. During the visit, they toured the quarantine offices and various departments and reviewed the readiness of airport terminals to receive incoming travelers, with the aim of strengthening preventive response measures and safeguarding public health.
