Urgent Statement from the Sudanese Armed Forces
The Sudanese Armed Forces have achieved a new military advance in the Blue Nile region, following the complete control and clearing of the strategic Al-Baraka area, located on the outskirts of the border town of Kurmuk, by the 4th Infantry Division and its supporting forces.
This decisive military operation comes within the framework of the comprehensive plans led by the army command to secure the eastern borders and their connecting strip, and to eliminate pockets of rebellion and the field alliance networks between the Rapid Support Forces militia and the forces of rebel leader Joseph Tuka. The fierce clashes resulted in heavy losses of life and military equipment for the attacking forces, in addition to the destruction and capture of weapons systems and military equipment. Military sources confirmed that this advance will directly contribute to strengthening security and social stability, and will cut off the cross-border criminal networks active in smuggling and human trafficking in those areas.

> As part of its ongoing military operations to liberate every inch of territory defiled by the rebellion and to strengthen stability along the eastern borders of the Blue Nile region, the 4th Infantry Division and supporting forces achieved a new field advance by successfully carrying out decisive military operations in the “Al-Baraka” area, located on the outskirts of the city of Kurmuk. Our forces were able to repel the mercenaries of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, owned by the Dagalo family, and completely clear the area, inflicting heavy losses in lives and equipment on them and their allies from the rebel forces of Joseph Tuka, in addition to destroying and capturing a number of military vehicles.
