Head of JEM: survives an assassination attempt

Field sources reported that Suleiman Sandal, head of the Justice and Equality Movement and a leading figure in the so-called “Founding” Alliance, survived an assassination attempt. The incident occurred during a shooting at one of the movement’s camps during a graduation ceremony for new recruits. According to the sources, Sandal was inspecting the graduating class accompanied by several leaders when one of the recruits surprised a guard, seized his weapon, and fired randomly inside the camp.

The sources added that the guards immediately engaged the attacker and killed him.

There is no confirmed information regarding injuries among the leaders who participated in the ceremony.
