Sudan: Chinese Company to Invest $1 Million in Copper and Gold Mining

A Chinese mining company announced its intention to invest in copper and gold mining, stating that it has allocated $1 million for this purpose.

The Hong Kong-based company, which owns Mias Saz, confirmed that the profits are expected to reach $1 billion by 2029.

This announcement came during a meeting today (Monday) between a delegation from the Hong Kong company, headed by Jason Jin, the company’s Development Director, and the Secretary-General of the National Investment Authority, Ahlam Mahdi Sabil. Sabil emphasized the importance of strengthening economic cooperation with the People’s Republic of China and providing opportunities for Chinese companies wishing to invest in Sudan.

The Secretary-General highlighted the investment opportunities in Sudan and the advantages and guarantees offered to investors under the Investment Law. She stated that the Hong Kong company is one of the world’s largest mining companies and that this direct investment will have a positive impact on the Sudanese economy. For his part, the company’s development manager, Jason Jean, stated that the company will invest $1 million, with projected returns of $1 billion by 2029. He explained that the company will operate in the copper and gold sectors.

Jean emphasized the company’s commitment to social responsibility through the project, which aims to improve the lives of desert communities in the region by creating 600 jobs. He added that the company will contribute to reconstruction projects in Sudan, utilize local raw materials, transfer modern technologies, and train local personnel.
