The Transitional Sovereignty Council mourns the passing of Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Al-Rukaini, the successor of the Rukainiyya Sufi order in Sudan, who passed away in the Arab Republic of Egypt after a life dedicated to serving Islam and spreading its teachings and knowledge.

The deceased devoted his life to serving the Holy Quran and educating generations. He was among the scholars and preachers who dedicated their lives to spreading the faith, guiding people, and reconciling differences. He was a religious beacon and a role model for society.

The Sovereignty Council, in mourning his passing, mourns for the Islamic nation one of its most prominent pillars of knowledge and da’wah (Islamic propagation). He remained a beacon of spiritual education, and with his loss, the nation has lost one of its leading figures who dedicated his life to spreading the values of tolerance and love.

We ask God Almighty to envelop him in His vast mercy, to grant him a place in the highest Paradise with the prophets, the righteous, the martyrs, and the virtuous—and what excellent companions they are!—and to inspire his family, loved ones, and followers with patience and solace. “Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to Him we will return.
