Social Development Returns to Khartoum and Launches Microfinance to Support Youth

The Ministry of Social Development in Khartoum State has officially resumed the operations of the Social Development Institution, announcing the launch of a microfinance program aimed at supporting youth projects and productive families, in the presence of senior government officials. The acting minister, Sadiq Hassan Farini, affirmed that the institution’s return represents a message of resilience and a real beginning of the economic recovery phase. He noted that it will lead efforts to support income-generating projects and transform citizens from consumers into producers, serving as a key arm in economic and social reconstruction. For his part, Director General of the Ministry of Information Al-Tayeb Saad Al dean stated that Sudanese willpower is capable of creating life out of destruction, stressing the role of media in highlighting these efforts and boosting public morale. He also called for intensified awareness campaigns on microfinance programs, especially among young people. Meanwhile, Dr. Nawal Bashir confirmed that the Ministry of Finance has allocated resources to support microfinance programs despite current economic challenges, considering investment in people as the winning option for revitalizing the labor market. The Director General of the institution, Briaa Mustafa Al-Zein, pledged to provide flexible financing programs that suit the current circumstances, affirming that the institution will work to empower youth and families and transform the effects of war into opportunities for production and sustainable development.
