Saudi Ambassador Affirms Continued and Expanded Humanitarian Aid to Sudan

Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail, Advisor to the Sovereignty Council for Organizations and Humanitarian Action, met with Ali bin Hassan Jaafar, the Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, accompanied by Nasser bin Mutlaq Al-Subaie, Assistant Director of the Emergency Relief Department at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and a delegation from the Center. The meeting focused on discussing the humanitarian and relief support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sudan through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

The Advisor to the Sovereignty Council praised the significant humanitarian role played by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, commending its ongoing contributions to supporting various humanitarian sectors, particularly emergency relief, healthcare, water projects, and combating desertification, in addition to its support for internally displaced persons and refugees in several Sudanese states.

For his part, the Saudi Ambassador affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to expanding and increasing humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people, within the framework of the growing bilateral relations between the two countries. He noted that humanitarian support programs will expand in the coming phase to meet the increasing humanitarian needs in Sudan.

In turn, Al-Subaie explained that Saudi humanitarian aid covers various Sudanese states, including the areas most affected by the humanitarian situation, particularly the Darfur region. This aid is delivered in coordination with the Sudanese government and several international organizations, including the World Food Programme, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and UNHCR.

The Saudi Ambassador reiterated his country’s commitment to supporting the Sudanese people and strengthening humanitarian efforts aimed at achieving stability and improving the humanitarian situation in the country.
