Minister of State for Human Resources and Social Welfare Affirms Government’s Commitment to Training and Capacity Building
Dr. Sulayma Ishaq, Minister of State for Human Resources and Social Welfare, affirmed the Ministry’s support for training and capacity-building activities as crucial mechanisms for achieving national recovery and healing. Addressing the closing session of the training course on effective administrative leadership in emergency situations, organized by the African Center for Governance, Peace, and Transition Studies (AcoGaps) at the Faculty of Medicine, Nilein University, the Minister explained that the workshop’s approach, which brings together government institutions, political entities, academics, and civil society, is a successful one that fosters mutual understanding and strengthens coordination and cooperation among institutions. She emphasized that national responsibility necessitates concerted official and political efforts for reconstruction and development. She urged the Center to adopt more practical and impactful approaches, such as training after practical experience, to facilitate the extraction of lessons learned and best practices.
For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abdeen, Director of the AcoGaps, expressed the Center’s and trainees’ gratitude to the Minister for her interest in the Center’s activities and programs. He noted that the Center operates according to phased priorities, including promoting good governance and institutional development, social peace, early recovery and reconstruction, psychosocial support, and social empowerment for youth and women.
He added that since the outbreak of the war, the Center has implemented sixty-one events with the participation of 5,689 individuals.
The training course included participants from government institutions, armed struggle movements, academics, and civil society representatives. The closing session was honored by the presence of Professor Adel Balla, Dean of Scientific Research, representing the Director of Nilein University; Lieutenant General Al-Maz, a leader in the Justice and Equality Movement; Mr.Ahmed Mohamed Abkar, Secretary of Information and official spokesperson for the Revolutionary Awakening Council; and a number of university professors.
It is worth mentioning that the training course lasted for three days, and the training content was presented by Professor Sir Al-Khatim Abdel-Rahim Tutu, Professor of Administrative Development and Peacebuilding at universities, and Dr. Hafez Al-Omari, trainer and expert in modern management. At the conclusion of the event, the Minister presented certificates to the students amidst celebration and appreciation of her participation.
