Minister of Social Development in Khartoum Attends Global Space Center Program to Combat Hate Speech at Women’s Prison

The Minister of Social Development in Khartoum State, Sadiq Farini, attended this afternoon an event at the Women’s Prison in Omdurman organized by the Global Space Center for Culture and Arts. The event featured a theatrical performance titled “Pain No. 3”, as part of state programs aimed at combating hate speech, promoting national unity, and rebuilding the social fabric.
Farini affirmed that his ministry is moving forward with implementing integrated programs designed to promote a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He highlighted the important role that artistic works—especially theater—can play in correcting misconceptions and fostering acceptance of others within society. He added that presenting such theatrical performances داخل correctional institutions reflects the ministry’s approach to integrating female inmates into psychological and social rehabilitation programs, helping them reintegrate positively into society.
He further explained that this activity is part of the ministry’s efforts to utilize the arts as an awareness tool that contributes to reshaping societal consciousness and addressing the social impacts of the war, particularly the spread of hate speech and its effects on national cohesion.
For his par Mukhtar Ahmed Dafalla, Secretary-General of the Global Space Center for Culture and Arts, stated that the theatrical performance addressed several social issues related to the effects of war and hate speech, through a dramatic presentation aimed at raising awareness and strengthening values of national belonging.
