Khartoum Health Chief Inspects Rehabilitation of Al-Shaab Hospital, Urges Swift Restoration of Specialized Cardiac Services

The Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Badri, conducted a field inspection of the ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation work at Al-Shaab Hospital, one of Sudan’s leading referral centers for cardiovascular diseases and cardiac surgery.

During the visit, he was accompanied by Professor Salah Al-Basha, Director of the National Program for Cardiac Diseases and Surgery, and Dr. Othman Ismail, Director of Al-Shaab Hospital. The tour covered various departments of the hospital to assess the progress and level of completion of the rehabilitation and equipment works.

Dr. Al-Badri affirmed that the Ministry is moving to restore major hospitals to full operational capacity, noting that Al-Shaab Hospital represents an important medical institution in providing specialized cardiac services. This, he said, requires accelerating maintenance and rehabilitation efforts to ensure the resumption of services in a better and more stable manner.

He added that the next phase will include additional support for the hospital in terms of infrastructure and medical equipment, contributing to expanding services and facilitating the return of patients. He also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to restoring vital health institutions to full operation in accordance with the highest standards.

For his part, Professor Salah Al-Basha highlighted efforts to restart specialized departments and create an advanced treatment environment, noting that current work focuses on the rapid reactivation of cardiac catheterization services, as well as strengthening medical care for heart patients and restoring full cardiac and surgical services.
