Kenyan Intelligence Chief Arrives in Khartoum

Former media advisor at the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, Mekki El-Mograbi, revealed the arrival of the Kenyan intelligence chief in Khartoum on what appears to be an unannounced visit, against the backdrop of strained relations between Sudan and Kenya following Kenya’s support for the Rapid Support Forces. He said in a post: “Security diplomacy is progressing from victory to victory. Here is the Kenyan intelligence chief in safe and secure Khartoum, under the hospitality of the dear Sudanese state, because Sudan is a force to be reckoned with. The situation is not as the buffoon Hemedti—as President Al-Burhan called him—claims, that General Mufaddal is touring Africa with his briefcase. It is true that he visits Africa and the world, but the reputation of the institution and the Sudanese armed forces precedes him, and his African counterparts visit him at his headquarters.”

He added, “We have said many times that Kenya is not just Ruto. It has a state, institutions, and nationalities that know Kenya’s interest does not lie in aggression against Sudan at all, and that if African countries do not stop this cycle of violence, they will all drink from it. The region, including Kenya, will not be stable if Sudan is threatened.”

According to Mekki, this clear message was conveyed at the CISSA workshop in Djibouti a few days ago, where Sudan, as usual, was the leader, the pioneer, and the shining star in the sky of African security diplomacy. We have said many times that Ruto will eventually reconsider his position, and his visit to Sudan is expected to be the season of disavowing the militias. It is the last celebration for the militia mouthpieces and their tools in my beloved country, Kenya.
