Fifth Session of the Joint Ministerial Committee between Sudan and Belarus Begins

The fifth session of the Joint Ministerial Committee between the Republic of Sudan and the Republic of Belarus commenced in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. This session aims to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, in accordance with the directives and understandings reached between the leadership of both countries.

The Sudanese delegation is headed by Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed, Minister of Energy and Petroleum, and includes Mohamed Nour Abdel-Daim, Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, along with representatives from various ministries and economic institutions. The Belarusian side is headed by Maxim Viktorovich, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

The first day of the committee’s work, which will take place from May 4-8, began with visits to both the Minsk Tractor Plant and the Belarusian Development Bank. The delegation was briefed on Belarus’s capabilities in the agricultural machinery industry and discussed financing opportunities for several development projects in Sudan.

The two sides will commence their engagement according to the agreed-upon agenda starting Tuesday, May 5. This includes amending and approving agreements reached during the previous period.

These meetings come at a time of increasing momentum in cooperation between the two countries, as they prepare to open new political and economic horizons that will strengthen bilateral relations and establish a strategic framework for them in all fields.
