Federal Operations Room for the National Campaign to Respond to the Polio Outbreak: More than 3 million children vaccinated against polio in 3 days

The Federal Operations Room for the National Campaign to Respond to the Polio Outbreak revealed that 3,598,839 children have received the polio vaccine out of a total target of 4,380,383 children within three days of the campaign’s launch on Monday, April 27, 2026. The campaign is being implemented in seven states: Khartoum, Gezira , White Nile, Gedaref, Sennar, Kassala, and North Kordofan, in its first round, noting the campaign’s significant success.

During its fourth meeting, the Operations Room reviewed reports from communication officers on the progress of the campaign in the targeted states. These reports covered the plans of federal supervisors, their observations on field teams and house-to-house visits, geographic coverage, as well as supply distribution, and various health promotion activities aimed at enhancing overall coverage.
