Arrival of More Than 2,500 Citizens via 56 Buses

Khartoum State has witnessed successive waves of voluntary return by citizens, amid significant attention from the state government, which received the returning groups in Omdurman locality at Al-Mawlid Square.
The reception was attended by the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza; Dr. Moatasim Mohamed Salih, Federal Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare; the Undersecretary of the Federal Governance and Rural Development Ministry; and Sadiq Hassan Farini, Director General of the Ministry of Social Development and Acting Minister, as well as Rapporteur of the Higher Committee for Voluntary Return.

Also present were Al-Tayeb Saad Al-Din, Director General of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism and Acting Minister; the Head of the Higher Council for Peaceful Coexistence; Saif Al-Din Mukhtar, Executive Director of Omdurman locality; Mr. Mohamed Wada’a, Head of the Voluntary Return Committee in the Arab Republic of Egypt; Lt. Gen. Yasser Mohamed Othman, Director of Border Crossings and Ports Administration; along with a number of officials and media representatives.

The group that arrived last week consisted of 23 buses carrying 1,038 citizens. Yesterday, the Higher Committee for Voluntary Return, along with the Al-Amal Committee, received another convoy of returnees comprising 33 buses carrying 1,485 citizens, bringing the total number of returnees to 2,523 citizens arriving via 56 buses.

The increasing return of citizens indicates a restoration of normal life in Khartoum, amid the availability of essential services provided by the government, improved security conditions, and the clearance of the state from militias. It also reflects the authorities’ commitment to ensuring the safety of return journeys and facilitating all necessary procedures
