Al-Burhan and the King of Bahrain Hold Bilateral Summit to Discuss Joint Cooperation
A Sudanese-Bahraini summit was held yesterday at the Sakhir Royal Palace in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
The Sudanese side was headed by Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, while the Bahraini side was headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The summit addressed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance and develop cooperation in various fields to serve common interests.
Head of the Sovereignty Council expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for the warm welcome, praising the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in supporting Sudan and noting the strength of the historical ties that bind the two nations.
Al-Burhan reiterated Sudan’s full support for Bahrain, both its government and people, in facing the regional situation, emphasizing Sudan’s rejection and condemnation of the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain. He affirmed Sudan’s readiness to provide all forms of support to its brothers in Bahrain.
He also emphasized Sudan’s keenness to enhance, develop, and strengthen the frameworks of joint cooperation to serve the aspirations of the two brotherly nations.
The joint discussions addressed the situation in the region in light of escalating regional tensions, in addition to issues of common interest.
For his part, His Majesty the King welcomed the visit of Head of the Sovereignty Council to Bahrain, considering it a reflection of the deep fraternal relations between the two countries, and commending Sudan’s supportive stance towards Bahrain’s security and stability.
His Majesty the King affirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening existing cooperation frameworks and opening new horizons for bilateral work in the coming period, expressing his deep appreciation for Sudan’s supportive stance towards the stability and sovereignty of Gulf states.
The two sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination in all fields to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The talks were attended on the Sudanese side by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi El-Din Salem, and the Director of the Office of Head of the Sovereignty Council, Major General Tariq Saud. On the Bahraini side, they were attended by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad, the King’s Personal Representative, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa, Minister of Finance.
