Saudi Arabia Lifts Ban on Sudanese Livestock Export

Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has lifted the ban on Sudanese livestock exports. During a meeting with a group of journalists in Khartoum, he emphasized that one of his ministry’s priorities is to rehabilitate and upgrade slaughterhouses and export facilities to meet international health standards.

He noted the rehabilitation of several slaughterhouses for meat exports, including those in Omdurman and Gedarif, with the aim of increasing meat exports to Arab and Gulf countries.

Al-Mansouri explained the growing demand for Sudanese meat due to its well-known quality and freedom from diseases and epidemics. He stated that Sudan has significant opportunities to open export markets to Arab countries, the Gulf states, and Europe following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Al-Mansouri outlined to the delegation his ministry’s plan to utilize the added value of all slaughterhouse byproducts to generate foreign currency.
