NSWF: Solar Energy Installation Begins in Khartoum Dormitory Complexes to Ensure Stable Services
National Students Welfare Fund (NSWF) affirmed its commitment to continuing efforts to provide a safe and stable residential environment that supports students’ academic achievement and meets their needs amidst current challenges. This initiative aims to enhance the sustainability of services and aligns with the state’s move towards relying on alternative energy sources.
The Fund’s Secretary in Khartoum State, Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Hussein, said that work has begun on installing solar energy systems in several dormitory complexes across the state to ensure the stability of electricity and water services within the dormitories. He added that the project was implemented in partnership between the Fund and the Ministry of Finance.
He added that the work included the Erdogan, Khansaa, Suad Tambal, and Hajja Nafisa Jankour complexes, in addition to water wells, central cooling systems, and generators upon which the complexes rely for their essential services.
He pointed out that the project will contribute to improving the level of services by providing a stable source of electricity that ensures the continuous operation of lighting and vital facilities, and supports the operation of water pumps and coolers, which will be reflected in the regularity of water supply within the complexes.
The project comes within the framework of the Fund’s efforts to develop the residential environment and improve the quality of services, thereby enhancing stability and providing a suitable environment for students to live and study.
The Khartoum State Fund affirmed that the solar energy project represents a qualitative leap in the development of services in the residential complexes, under the patronage of the Fund’s Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed Hamza Al-Amin, while reconstruction efforts continue.
He explained that the manufacturing of beds has begun with 400 beds in the Martyr Suad Tambul dormitory in the Martyrs Complex, in addition to the installation of 3 transformers and various cables in the Suad Tombul, Bashair Al-Salam, and Mohammed Saleh Omar dormitories, and the completion of the necessary connections.
