Minnawi: Meeting with the French Parliament a Turning Point in the Sudanese Crisis

Darfur Governor, Minni Arko Minnawi, met yesterday at the French Parliament with Member of Parliament Christophe Marion, one of the most prominent voices within European parliaments who has addressed the genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces militias.

In a post on his Facebook page, Minnawi added that this parliamentary initiative constituted a significant turning point, contributing to bringing the Sudanese tragedy to the forefront of European political concerns. The humanitarian and security situation in Sudan has become an urgent issue receiving increasing attention from European governments.

Minnawi emphasized that this meeting comes within the framework of striving for more effective international action to stop the violations and protect civilians.
