Higher Committee for Rehabilitation of Health Facilities Reviews Progress and Directs Completion of Reference Hospitals in Khartoum

The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, chaired the second meeting of the Higher Committee for the Rehabilitation of Health Facilities in Khartoum State for the year 2026. The meeting was attended by the State Minister of Health, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Badri, along with committee members, at the Ministry’s main hall.
The meeting reviewed performance reports of the committees over the past period, as well as the work plan for 2026. The report indicated that the operational rate of hospitals and health centers has exceeded 80%, with significant progress in the provision of medical equipment and devices.
The Minister directed the concerned committees to expedite the completion of healthcare services in the remaining institutions, ensure the operation of all hospital departments, and resume operations of key referral hospitals in Khartoum State, including the Dental Hospital, Jaafar Ibn Ouf, Dermatology Hospital, Al-Shaab Hospital, Al-Zahra Hospital, and the Eye Hospital.
The meeting also discussed plans to complete the rehabilitation of 35 health centers and to prepare for the imminent inauguration of new medical equipment and devices, in addition to developing a dedicated profile for Khartoum State.
Furthermore, the meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening health insurance services and providing necessary emergency support to improve the referral system within the state, contributing to enhancing the quality of healthcare services delivered to citizens.
