Energy Minister: Developing the workforce to keep pace with global changes enhances the productivity of the energy sector

Minister of Energy, Engineer Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed Ali, affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to developing its human resources to keep pace with global transformations in the energy sector. This development aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and good governance, ensure the exchange of expertise, and unify employee efforts to increase production. This statement was made during the launch of the 2026 training plan programs, implemented by the Petroleum and Technical Training Center in cooperation with the General Directorate of Human Resources. He explained that training enables employees to gain a thorough understanding of the regulations and laws governing job-related aspects, acquire skills, and build capabilities that enhance job performance. Furthermore, it allows institutions to rotate human resources, exchange expertise, and strengthen teamwork. He added that the energy sector requires continuous development of its personnel, including obtaining professional certifications and participating in competency programs, in line with the global energy boom. He also highlighted the important role of the Ministry of Energy in rebuilding the infrastructure of the electricity and petroleum sectors by restoring electricity connections, expanding the electricity grid’s coverage, increasing production, and continuously working to control imports and secure petroleum products, in accordance with the state’s strategy. Providing fuel at reasonable prices is crucial, as fuel is a strategic commodity that impacts the movement of goods and commodities and the lives of citizens. This includes working to develop production in oil fields and exploring investment opportunities in the Khartoum and Port Sudan refineries, as well as in vacant areas located in secure regions of some Sudanese states.
