Sudan’s Ambassador to China Discusses Strengthening Investment Cooperation with the China-Africa Development Fund in Beijing

As part of efforts to strengthen economic and investment relations between the Republic of Sudan and the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Ambassador Omar Issa Ahmed paid an official visit to the headquarters of the China-Africa Development Fund in Beijing on Monday, March 2, 2026. He was received by the Fund’s Chairman, Mr. Wang Shaodan, and several senior officials.

A radio correspondent in Beijing reported that the meeting addressed prospects for developing cooperation in sustainable development, serving mutual interests and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. His Excellency Ambassador Omar Issa reviewed the latest political and economic developments in Sudan, highlighting the challenges associated with the reconstruction phase and emphasizing the important role the Fund can play in supporting Sudan’s efforts to attract Chinese investments, particularly in the infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and mining sectors.

For his part, the Fund’s President, Wang Shaodan, welcomed the expansion of cooperation with Sudan, emphasizing the Fund’s readiness to support priority development projects and contribute to the implementation of strategic programs that enhance economic and social stability.

Both sides agreed to continue coordination and intensify efforts to create an attractive investment environment, thereby strengthening opportunities for sustainable development and supporting the economic partnership between Khartoum and Beijing.
