SAF neutralizes a senior RSF commander and 12 others

The Sudanese Armed Forces have intensified their air operations in the Darfur region, announcing the death of a prominent Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander and several other members of the force. The attack, carried out by a drone, targeted a military convoy near Forbaranga in West Darfur State.

According to military sources, the strike resulted in the deaths of 13 personnel, including field commander Major General Abdul Rahim Bahr Jali, and wounded 23 others. It also destroyed nine combat vehicles loaded with ammunition and military supplies.

The sources reported that the convoy was en route to the areas of Kulbus and Jebel Moon to reinforce other forces preparing for a military operation towards the border town of Al-Tina in North Darfur.

Abdul Rahim Bahr Jali was considered one of the most prominent RSF field commanders in West Darfur. His name was associated with recruitment operations, securing logistical supply lines through neighboring countries, and overseeing troop movements in Darfur and South Kordofan.

These developments come as part of the army’s strategy to reduce the Rapid Support Forces’ military capabilities by targeting supplies, supply chains, and troop movements, at a time when areas of West Darfur are witnessing an escalation in confrontations, amid growing fears of the repercussions of this on the humanitarian and security situation in the region.
