Jibril Ibrahim Affirms Fate of Integrating His Forces into the Sudanese Army
Sudanese Finance Minister and Head of the Justice and Equality Movement, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, affirmed the armed struggle movements’ commitment to integrating into the Sudanese Armed Forces, ultimately aiming for a unified national army that reflects Sudan’s diversity.
Jibril’s remarks came during his address at an Iftar dinner held in Port Sudan, where he reiterated his determination to continue military operations until what he described as the complete liberation of Sudanese territory from the rebellion.
He indicated that the Sudanese government supports the peace process based on the Jeddah Declaration, emphasizing its rejection of any settlement that, in his words, might lead to the reemergence of the Rapid Support Forces in the country’s political and military landscape.
On the economic front, the Finance Minister stated that Sudan is experiencing relative economic stability, adding that the Sudanese economy has managed to absorb the effects of the war to a reasonable degree, with indicators showing growth in production and increased economic activity.
The event was attended by Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Kabbashi, a member of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief, along with a number of government officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Governor of Darfur, and the governors of Red Sea and West Darfur states, as well as representatives of the General Intelligence Service and several ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions.
During the event, Chieftain Ali Tita, representing the Native Administration, affirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening the unity of Sudanese society and combating hate speech, reiterating its support for the armed forces in the ongoing war.
The Governor of Darfur also spoke, representing the political forces, emphasizing the unity of national forces in seeking a solution to the Sudanese crisis that preserves the country’s unity and sovereignty, and affirming his rejection of any attempts to form parallel governments.
