Partnership between UNFPA and SAPA to Boost Reproductive Health Services in Sudan

The Sudanese American Physicians Association in the United States (SAPA) received the UNFPA representative in Sudan, Fabrizia Falcioni and her accompanying delegation on an official visit aimed at strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of reproductive health and combating gender-based violence.

During the visit, Falcione was briefed on the most prominent programs and projects implemented by SAPA in various states of Sudan, especially in light of the current humanitarian challenges, and its role in providing reproductive health services to the most needy groups. She also conducted a field tour of mobile clinics run by WHO with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which contribute to the delivery of essential health services to affected communities far from urban centers.

Falcione praised SAPA’s efforts in supporting women and girls, stressing that cooperation between the two sides will witness development at the regional level, enhance the exchange of experiences, and expand the scope of interventions to serve the most vulnerable communities.
