Statement of Condemnation

The Unit for Combating Violence Against Women and Children condemns in the strong terms the unfortunate events that took place in the area of Kormok, which resulted in serious violations against innocent civilians, especially women and children, by militias launched from a neighboring country. Expressing our deep concern at the escalation of violence, we reaffirm our unequivocal rejection of all forms of violations of human dignity and stress the need to protect civilians in accordance with national laws and international conventions.

We also call on the concerned authorities to open an urgent and transparent investigation into these events, hold accountable all those found to be involved, and ensure that the perpetrators do not go unpunished. We reiterate our call to the aggressors to stop the violence immediately, to work to give voice to wisdom, to protect affected communities, and to provide the necessary support to survivors.
