Major Security Blow in Khartoum: Most Dangerous Drug Dealer Arrested

Khartoum State Security Committee announced significant security breakthroughs during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, most notably the arrest of a drug dealer and the dismantling of militia smuggling networks in Khartoum. These operations were conducted by security forces to enhance stability and maintain security within the state.

This announcement came during a committee meeting chaired by the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, where military, criminal, and security reports were reviewed. The committee commended the efforts of the security forces and joint patrols in combating phenomena and ensuring the safety of citizens during the Eid period.

On the military front, the committee revealed that the National Capital Command, in coordination with Khartoum North district Intelligence, conducted a special operation that resulted in the arrest of one of the most dangerous drug traffickers and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics in his possession.

The Wadi Sayyidna Intelligence also managed to intercept several vehicles that were smuggling food and spare parts to rebel militia elements.

In a related development, the Jabal Aulia district Intelligence announced the successful arrest of gangs specializing in robbing citizens, as part of a large-scale security campaign targeting criminal hideouts and illegal activities within the locality.

Regarding the criminal report, the police indicated a significant decrease in reported crimes, exceeding 30%, during the recent period.

They confirmed that most repeat offenders have been apprehended, while acknowledging that some crimes have been exaggerated by the media. They urged citizens to cooperate with security agencies and immediately report any threats via the unified number (999).

The committee also announced the launch of 40 additional hotlines to receive reports in the coming days, a move aimed at expediting security responses and enhancing communication with the community.

In its report, the State Security Authority explained that the security cell had carried out a number of targeted operations, resulting in the arrest of approximately 100 suspects in various cases.

Meanwhile, the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Authority announced the reinforcement of the joint security patrol with the deployment of additional forces and vehicles to support the state’s security plan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Security Committee reviewed the arrangements for the security plan for the intermediate certificate examinations, affirming the readiness of the security forces to provide a safe environment for students and ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations.
