Amjad Farid Appointed Political Advisor to Al-Burhan

Amjad Farid Al-Tayeb announced his acceptance of the appointment as Advisor to Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council for Political Affairs and Foreign Relations, emphasizing that his decision stems from his commitment to the interests of the Sudanese people amidst what he described as the “existential battle” the country is facing.

Farid added that the current phase does not allow for neutrality or retreat, stressing the necessity of engaging in national battles to defend the state and its institutions. He added that the war that erupted in April 2023 revealed the true nature of the conflict in Sudan, accusing the Rapid Support Forces militia of waging a comprehensive war against the state and targeting its fundamental pillars.

The new advisor affirmed his commitment to working from his position to support Sudan’s stability and preserve its sovereignty, calling for prioritizing the interests of the citizens and indicating that his allegiance will remain “to the people and their interests” during this critical phase.
