Al-Burhan: We Don’t Recognize Muslim Brotherhood, National Congress Party, or Communists… What Matters to Us Is the Sudanese People
Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, saluted the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of the Armed Forces, the supporting forces, and those mobilized who sacrificed everything in the Battle of Dignity for the honor and dignity of the Sudanese people.
During his participation in the annual Iftar (fast-breaking meal) organized by the Chieftain of the Rubatab, Khalifa Sheikh al-Saim, in the “Al-Jazira Muqrat” area of Abu Hamad city in the River Nile State, he said that the army will not let the Sudanese people down and will work with all its might for the honor and dignity of the nation.
He added, “The Battle of Dignity is proceeding towards its goals of eradicating the rebellion and cleansing the country of the rebels’ defilement.”
He continued, “There will be no truce, no ceasefire, and no reconciliation with them until they lay down their arms.”
Al-Burhan stated that the state’s ultimate goal is to liberate it from the rebellion, explaining that the rebels’ objective is to seize control of the state, its resources, and its achievements. He emphasized that the army and the people stand united against these schemes.
He added, “Our project is to cleanse the country of any individual, party, or entity that seeks to seize its resources and capabilities,” clarifying that no one can hijack the Sudanese state. Burhan said, “We don’t recognize the Muslim Brotherhood, the National Congress Party, or the communists; we only recognize the Sudanese people, and we will live and die with them.”
Burhan indicated that even politicians currently abroad can return if they repent and embrace the right path, and they will be welcomed.
Al-Burhan spoke about the peaceful coexistence enjoyed by River Nile State, stating that it should serve as a model for all other states. He explained that all ethnicities and tribes have coalesced into a cohesive national fabric, noting that the state has welcomed many citizens displaced by the war. He directed the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company to make optimal use of its corporate social responsibility resources and direct them towards the people of the region to serve service and development projects.
