Al-Burhan: Sudan Cannot Encourage Continued War and Destruction
Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, stated that the Mobile Command played a significant role in directing and managing operations during the Dignity War.
He pointed to its valuable contributions in liberating the General Command and areas of Omdurman from the siege imposed by the rebel militia at that time.
During his participation today in the Mobile Command’s Iftar (fast-breaking meal), Al-Burhan explained that the return of life to Khartoum represents a true return to the beating heart of Sudan.
He indicated that the war raging in the Middle East is extremely saddening, and said that Sudan has suffered the scourge of war, therefore it cannot encourage the continuation of war, killing, destruction, and devastation, calling on all combatants to lay down their arms.
He also noted the great roles of the Gulf States and their generous support for Sudan.
He affirmed the Sudanese government’s solidarity with them and its condemnation of any violations against their people or infringements upon their sovereignty.
He stated that the government will not allow any group to speak on behalf of the armed forces or the Sudanese state on matters and issues that are not within their purview.
He added, “We will not allow any space for freedom or celebration to be exploited to harm Sudanese people.” He further stated, “We will stand against what the group did yesterday, and against anyone who supports or stands with them.”
He emphasized that Sudan also stands against anyone who encourages aggression against our brothers in various parts of the world.
He clarified that Sudan is a peaceful country striving for peace, and warned anyone who dares to harm the Sudanese state that there will be no leniency and they will face the consequences.
Lieutenant General Al-Burhan indicated that the victory celebrations will be postponed until reaching El Geneina, For Baranga, the Triangle, Kurmuk, and Qisan.
