Al-Burhan Receives “National Consensus” Memorandum from the Forces of Freedom and Change Alliance
Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, met on Thursday with a delegation from the Forces of Freedom and Change Alliance for National Issues. Also present were Sovereignty Council member and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Yasser al-Atta, and the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.

Nour al-Din Salah al-Din, explained in a press statement that the Alliance presented Head of the Sovereignty Council with a memorandum expressing its desire to initiate a dialogue with the Armed Forces as part of a comprehensive dialogue process aimed at building the broadest possible political and social bloc. He emphasized that dialogue is the only and best way to achieve national consensus, which represents a bridge for Sudan to overcome its current crisis.
Salah al-Din stated that the memorandum includes several key points, most notably how to end the war in favor of a state governed by the rule of law and strong institutions, regulating the relationship between civilian and military institutions, and initiating a path toward a civilian democratic transition, in addition to issues of military development, justice, and transitional justice.
He indicated that the delegation found a positive response from the Armed Forces leadership, explaining that the coming period will witness the convening of technical committees to discuss these issues, along with parallel dialogue with civil and societal forces, within the framework of the alliance’s contribution to leading the country toward a foundational national consensus.
It is worth noting that the alliance comprises several political organizations, most prominently the Federal Gathering, the Center Current for Change, the National Current, the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party (Sudan Regional Command), the Youth Rights Movement, and the National Will Party. The alliance has affirmed its openness to all political components that agree with the declaration of principles it has put forward.
