The Minister of Human Resources Meets Save the Children Delegation

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mutasem Ahmed Saleh, met in his office with a delegation from Save the Children, headed by Cecilia Martinsen, Executive Director of Save the Children Sweden, along with several leaders from the organization’s country office in Sudan.

The delegation included Claire Henry, Deputy Country Director; Sheikh Abdullah, Child Protection and Case Management Specialist; and Shahid Saber and Rahma Hussain, Humanitarian Access and Safety Coordinators.

In a statement to SUNA, the minister said that the meeting addressed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the ministry and the organization and reviewed the ongoing child care interventions in the fields of child protection, case management, and facilitating humanitarian access, in light of the complex humanitarian situation that the country is experiencing.

He explained that the two sides agreed to expand the areas of partnership and coordination to include nutrition, education, child protection, and food security, in addition to supporting school meal programs, which contribute to strengthening the resilience of families and communities and protecting children from increasing risks.

The Minister affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to developing partnerships with national and international organizations and integrating efforts to support childhood and social protection issues within the framework of its vision aimed at responding to humanitarian needs and building a safer and more stable future for children in Sudan.
