The Minister of Health Stands on the Arrangements for the Launch of the Dengue Prevention Strategy in Sudan

The Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, met in his office with Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman Noor, Advisor to the Risk Media and a member of the National Team to Develop the Strategic Plan to Combat Dengue Fever in Sudan. Present at the meeting were the Director of the General Directorate of Emergency and Epidemic Control, Dr. Muntaser Mohamed Othman; the Director of the General Directorate of Basic Health Care, Dr. Musab Siddique; the Technical Advisor to the Minister, Dr. Fatima Abdel Rahman; and the Director of the Media, Public Relations, and Protocol Department, Hassan Al-Sir Ahmed.
The meeting discussed the need to accelerate the work of the committees of the National Strategic Plan to Combat Dengue. It also addressed the practical steps to formulate the plan and adopt key axes to be the basis for writing and implementing the national plan requires a focus on the axes of health promotion, the role of society, and integrated and strategic interventions. It was also agreed that the strategies for all epidemics, especially malaria, dengue, vector control, and cholera, should be integrated, in addition to the community strategy.
