The Federal Minister of Health Inspects the Khartoum Customs Hospital

The Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, accompanied by the Director of the General Directorate of Therapeutic Medicine, Dr. Haider Mohamed Abdel Nabi, visited the opening of the Customs Hospital (Abdoun Sayed Ahmed Medical Complex in Khartoum State), where a number of departments were inspected.

At the end of the visit, a joint meeting was held to discuss the role of the hospital in providing health services to civilians, police, and customs forces before and after the war, including the treatment of the wounded in the battle of Al-Karama, in addition to its contribution to confronting the spread of dengue fever. It is worth mentioning that the complex was opened in 1996 and serves customs employees and citizens, as the kidney center provided services to 60 patients before the war, with the aim of reopening it soon.

The Minister of Health expressed his happiness at being present among the customs forces, praising their role in bridging health gaps during epidemics and continuing their work during the war and combating the smuggling of medicines and drugs.

The Commander of the Customs Forces explained that the complex represents part of the Customs’ contribution to social responsibility, pointing to the challenges it faces, especially the problem of electricity, and stressing their keenness to enhance coordination with the Federal Ministry of Health to provide distinguished services to citizens and customs employees.
